- Polycarbonate is a unique engineering thermoplastic which combines a high level of mechanical, optical, thermal and electrical properties. Multi-wall polycarbonate features a proprietary surface treatment which provides almost total resistance against degradation caused by UV radiation in sunlight.
- The main advantage of polycarbonate over other types of plastic is unbeatable strength combined with light weight. While acrylic is 17% stronger than glass, polycarbonate is nearly unbreakable. Bulletproof windows and enclosures as seen inside banks or at drive-throughs are often made of polycarbonate. Add to this the advantage that polycarbonate is just one-third the weight of acrylic, or one-sixth as heavy as glass, and the only drawback is that it is more expensive than either acrylic or glass.
- The enclosure frames are fitted with high-tec Makrolon® long-life polycarbonate made by Röhmor 10 or 8mm cellular (opaque/multiwall) and 3 or 4mm solid (transparent/compact) polycarbonate panels made by Palsund Ltd., UK.
- We use cellular (multi-walls) polycarbonate with two or four walls. The polycarbonate panels act like a greenhouse. Direct exposure to the sun´s rays or, on cloudy days, the effect of diffused rays warms the air within the enclosure. At night or on cool, cloudy days the heat of the enclosed atmosphere is slowly lost.
- The external surface of the polycarbonate has a layer of high-quality UV absorber, which blocks harmful UV radiation and prevents discoloration, crumbling and weakening.
- There are six colours of transparent polycarbonate available: clear, green, light blue, blue, milky and brown.
- We also offer special transparent polycarbonate with a NO DROP (Bayer GmbH) or DRIPGUARD (GE Plastics Ltd.) layer, which stops water vapour from dripping from the roof of the enclosure; instead it simply runs down to the ground along the inner surface of the wall. NO DROP or DRIPGUARD polycarbonate is used especially on large enclosures.
- 3-4mm-thick solid polycarbonate panels have much better optical properties than opaqu polycarbonate. They can be used either throughout the structure or only in selected parts of the enclosure (for example, for the end walls or one chosen wall).

Unscratchable solid polycarbonate
|
We also offer special transparent polycarbonate - "unscratchable". It is very strong and scratchproof. The only disadvantage is the price - almost 40% more than a normal PC.
